Carnaval de Riosucio

The Carnival of Riosucio, held every two years in Colombia, is a vibrant and unique festival that blends Indigenous, African, and Spanish traditions. Known for its motto of "peace and friendship," the carnival stands out with its devil figure, which symbolizes the spirit of celebration, rather than evil. The event is full of parades, music, dance, and poetry, with locals donning elaborate costumes and masks. It's a community-centered celebration, steeped in cultural and historical significance, and offers a colorful showcase of the region’s rich heritage and joyous spirit.
