The Guane Museum is a museum located in the municipality of Barichara, in the department of Santander, Colombia. It is dedicated to the Guane culture, an indigenous civilization that inhabited the region before the arrival of the Spanish colonizers.
This museum exhibits a collection of archaeological artifacts such as ceramics, stone tools, textiles and other objects related to the daily life of the Guanes. It also contains fossil remains that show the paleontological richness of the region. The Guanes are known for their advanced textile technology and for being expert weavers.
The museum is not only important for its archaeological focus, but also for preserving and disseminating the cultural and historical heritage of the pre-Columbian peoples who inhabited the eastern Andes of Colombia.
