This is one of the most famous places for bird watching in Colombia, as it is home to many endemic species. The Sierra Nevada is one of the highest coastal mountains in the world, with diverse ecosystems ranging from beaches to snow-capped peaks. In this region you can see emblematic species such as the Santa Marta hummingbird and the Santa Marta parakeet, which are not found anywhere else on the planet.
